A spokesperson for wrestling and entertainment legend Hulk Hogan has poured cold water on claims the 69-year-old icon is “paralysed” following major surgery.
Speaking on his podcast, fellow wrestling great Kurt Angle claimed that the Thunder In Paradise star had lost all feeling below his waist and needed the assistance of a walking cane to get around, sparking a frenzy of speculation on his condition.
“Hogan had his back surgery again. He had the nerves cut from his lower body. He can’t feel his lower body, so he has to use his cane to walk around,” Angle said.
“I thought he was using the cane because he has pain in his back. He doesn’t have any pain, he has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything.
“So now he can’t feel his legs, so he has to walk with a cane.
“That’s pretty serious, man. I mean, I really feel for Hogan. He put his heart and soul into the business and it ate him up.”
A spokesperson for Hogan – whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea – has since refuted those claims, saying he is “doing well and is not paralysed”.
“Everything is okay with him,” Hogan’s representative told Entertainment Tonight. “Hulk is someone with a lot of humour.”
The spokesperson also assured fans that the WWE Hall of Fame member does not reqire a walking cane to get around.
It will be welcome news for millions of Hulk Hogan fans around the world, many of whom took to social media to express their condolences for his apparent condition.
