Rachel Zegler, the star of Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White, has once again found herself in the crosshairs of online toxicity

The young actress has been subjected to a relentless barrage of hate since her casting, with critics taking issue with her comments about the original film.

Zegler, who is of Colombian and Polish descent, is playing “skin white as snow” Snow White in Disney’s live-action remake of the 1937 film.

The latest incident saw Zegler receive a death threat on X following the debut of the Snow White trailer at the D23 convention.

An angry X user commented on a picture of Zegler with “someone should kill you” in a now-deleted tweet.

In an X post that has since gone viral, Zegler responded to the threat with a reference to her upcoming role in a Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet.

In her usual witty style, she pointed out that she would be “dying” on stage multiple times a week.

Zegler posted on X, “Fun fact—I will be dying eight times a week on Broadway this fall!!!!!! Get your tickets, lee [the user’s handle]! Also @/FBI.”

Zegler’s response has garnered widespread support and admiration from fans, who have rallied behind the actress amid the ongoing barrage of hate she has faced since her casting.

A second user wrote, “God, you’re such a champ. I’m so sorry you keep getting this kind of hateful garbage, but you’re handling it like a total queen.”

A different user chimed in, “I’m so sorry you have to deal with this.”

Disney recently revealed the first official trailer for Rachel Zegler’s Snow White at its D23 expo.

In the trailer, Zegler is shown singing the classic song “Whistle While You Work” as she dances with the seven dwarves.

Zegler is also set to star alongside Heartstopper actor Kit Connor in the upcoming Romeo and Juliet revival helmed by Sam Gold.

Disney’s Snow White is scheduled to hit theaters on 20 March 2025.
