News update: Adele Finally Seems to Confirm Engagement After Fan Proposes: ‘I Can’t Marry You, I’m Already Getting Married’…see more
Adele has finally addressed all the engagement rumors surrounding her relationship with sports executive Rich Paul!
During a concert in Munich, Germany on August 9, the Grammy-winning singer, 36, responded to a fan asking for her hand in marriage. “I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married,” she responded while waving her left hand, according to video from the scene shared on social media.
It didn’t appear Adele was wearing a ring, but just last month she was spotted wearing a pear-shaped diamond on her ring finger while out with Paul in London.
The confirmation comes after months of speculation that she’s headed down the aisle with Paul.
“I’ve never been in love like this,” Adele told Elle of Paul in August 2022. “I’m obsessed with him.”
The “Easy on Me” singer and Paul, CEO of the sports agency KLUTCH Sports Group, first sparked dating rumors in July 2021, when they were photographed watching an NBA Finals game courtside together.
Though basketball outings would go on to become a regular date night for the couple, it marked the first time they were snapped together, and they eventually went Instagram official in September.
Adele revealed in an interview with Vogue that October that she and Paul had actually first met years ago at a party, and that she was drawn to his energy.
“I was a bit drunk. I said, ‘Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now,’” she recalled. “He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away.”
The singer also praised her beau in a November 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired during her CBS special Adele One Night Only.
“He’s just hilarious. Oh, he’s so funny, he’s hilarious, yeah. And very smart. You know, he’s very, very smart. It’s quite incredible watching him do what he does,” she said, adding that their relationship marked the first time she’s “loved myself and been open to loving and being loved by someone else.”
The couple sparked engagement rumors in February 2022 when Adele rocked a massive sparkler on her ring finger at the BRIT Awards, though she played coy on the jewelry’s significance during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show a few days later.
“As if I would ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t [engaged],” she said. “It’s lovely though, isn’t it?”
In August 2022, Adele revealed that she was “absolutely” open to getting married again, and also hoped to expand her family.

“I definitely want more kids,” she told Elle. “I’m a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music.”
When he turned 41 in December, Paul celebrated by taking in Adele’s Las Vegas residency show, during which she serenaded him with “Happy Birthday.”
“I love you more than life itself — we wish you happy birthday,” she told him.
In May, a source told PEOPLE the couple’s “relationship is solid” adding, “They help each other and are good partners,” the source says, adding that Adele “loves being with him.”
Reps for Adele and Paul did not immediately respond to request for comment.
