News Flash: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Have Officially Reached the “Dressing Alike” Stage of Their Relationship

Assuming you didn’t “eternal sunshine” 2016 from your mind post-Trump’s election, you might recall one Taylor Alison Swift hosting that year’s Met Gala in a metallic Louis Vuitton look. The evening (and the American Vogue cover that preceded it) marked a point of departure for Swift from a style perspective: her golden curls were bleached platinum, her typically scarlet lips darkened to carmine, and her futuristic minidress constituted a sartorial 180 from the fairytale J Mendel gowns she’d previously worn up the museum steps.

It would be a short-lived pivot, with Swift promptly running away from “directional fashion plate status” faster than a Super Bowl-winning tight-end—embracing, instead, an off-duty aesthetic that feels Anthropologie-adjacent with the odd Versace medusa thrown in. And yet, if Swift’s clothes typically look more relatable than rarified, there’s no denying her penchant for Nicolas Ghesquière’s accessories has proved Era-transcending.

Last night, Swift and Travis Kelce (who are dating – not sure if you’ve heard), celebrated the Chief’s win by going for pizza at Lucali’s in Brooklyn (which, incidentally, is where Charlie should-be-a-bigger-artist Puth proposed to his girlfriend). Avert your eyes, for a moment, from Kelce’s burgeoning mustache in the paparazzi shots, and you’ll notice that Swift’s all-black ensemble—which I’m sure is being parsed for Reputation-related Easter eggs as I type—is paired with Louis Vuitton’s knee-high Donna boots and the maison’s Coussin PM bag.

They’re just the latest in a ’00s hip-hop video’s worth of Vuitton accessories to anchor Swift’s date-night looks: see the Side Trunk Bag she styled with her Canadian tuxedo at the NFL Season Opener; the Star Trail Boots she paired with a sheer Jean Paul Gaultier top for dinner at The Waverly Inn; the Camera Box Bag she carried into Arrowhead Stadium last September… And Kelce, in turn, has been papped trotting on and off private jets clutching Keepalls and Pégases. If you’re going to have a third in your relationship, you could do a lot worse than Louis V.
