Looking to the future, Simone Biles says she wants to become a …;Is she trying to quit?

Paris 2024 has been, so far, the happiest competition for Simone Biles . The athlete arrived at the Olympic Games much more focused on her mental health than during Tokyo 2020, which allowed her to demonstrate her talent as well as her love of the sport. That strength, added to her discipline and effort, make her say goodbye to Paris with her head held high, three gold medals and one more silver ; a personal achievement with which she adds a total of 11 medals in her history at the Olympic Games and which makes her look to the future with the desire to start a family.

When talking about her plans to have children with her husband, American football player Jonathan Owens , the 29-year-old athlete smiles in a different way, with hope and joy for her plans with the man to whom she said “I do” in an intimate wedding in 2023. “Yes! Jonathan and I always talk about having children. If he could, he would have had them yesterday,” she says happily during a chat on the Today Show .

“Obviously, we both have goals we want to achieve before having kids, but yes, it is something that is in our future,” she adds happily about this new stage in her life and marriage.

And although it is something that lights up her smile, perhaps ‘The Queen of Gymnastics’ would wait a little longer to make that dream come true. In her own words, she could be encouraged to compete in the next Olympic Games, to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. “The next Olympics are on home soil, so you never know. I’m going to relax and see where life takes me,” she said with a laugh, without confirming her participation, but leaving that possibility open.

Gratitude to Her parents
Simone’s life would not have been the same if her maternal grandparents, Ronald and Nellie , had not adopted her. Her biological parents had addiction problems, so from a very young age she saw her grandparents as her parents. It was they who agreed to enroll her in a gymnastics institute under the tutelage of the famous coach, Aimee Boorman, who saw her at the age of six imitating other gymnasts for fun during a field trip.

Grateful for the unconditional support she received from her family, she said: “If it weren’t for my parents and adoption, I wouldn’t be here today,” she said without hesitation when asked who the person was who made all of this possible.
