Steve Kornacki and Harry Styles are now FaceTime friends.

The beloved NBC News chief data analyst shared on TODAY Jan. 23 that he had a surreal moment when he received a FaceTime call from the pop superstar on Jan. 21 while Kornacki was hanging out in the stands at New York City’s Madison Square Garden watching a men’s college basketball game.
“It was funny, I was at MSG on Tuesday night for a St. John’s basketball game,” Kornacki said on TODAY. “And I get a text message from his manager, and he says, ‘Harry would like to say thank you.’ So I’m sitting there and FaceTime goes off.”
Kornacki fielded the call in the iconic arena where there is a banner hanging from the rafters commemorating the 15 straight sold-out shows Styles played at MSG during his 2022 tour.
“Then I’m thinking I don’t want to cause any (disturbance), so I walked outside on the concourse and I took it,” Kornacki said.
“Then I realized he’s got that banner hanging at MSG for all the shows he’s (done). I should’ve gone in and shown him the banner, but I forgot to.”
