The quarterback has agreed a two-year deal to remain with the team worth $88million but crucially, could rise to the $100m figure Jones had in mind.
It’s the biggest two-year deal in the history of the NFL and comes after Jones turned down a three-year offer worth the same amount at $33m per season.
His new deal is worth at least $11m more per year.Jones, 28, was excellent for the Colts last season and had led the team to an 8-2 record before he tore his Achilles, an injury that derailed the team’s entire season. Without him, they went 0-7 and fell away from the playoffs.
