Taylor Swift Exhibition Coming to V&A South Kensington
Get ready, Swifties! The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in South Kensington is set to host a brand new exhibition celebrating Taylor Swift’s iconic style. The Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail will feature 16 looks worn by the Grammy-winning singer across her illustrious career ¹.
The free trail will be open to the public from July 27 to September 8, 2024, with a small section closed on August 16 ¹. Visitors will have the chance to see costumes and archival material up close, including many items on display for the first time ¹.
The exhibition will showcase a range of Swift’s iconic looks, each celebrating a chapter in her musical journey. The trail will take visitors on a journey through permanent galleries at the V&A, presenting some of Swift’s famous looks in conjunction with spaces and objects from the museum’s own collection ¹.
Some of the items on display will include customized cowboy boots worn by Swift during her 2007 Soul2Soul II Tour and the black ruffled dress worn in her recent music video for Fortnight ¹. The exhibition will also feature storyboards, music awards, and previously unseen items from Swift’s archive, exploring her childhood and recording legacy ¹.
The installations have been designed by Tom Piper, whose other projects include the V&A’s 2021 exhibition Alice: Curiouser And Curiouser ¹.
