A man pardoned by the president for Jan. 6 used his freedom to sexually abuse two children. He’s now in prison for life. The pardon cannot be revoked.

Andrew Paul Johnson, 45, a Florida handyman pardoned by Trump for his role in the January 6 Capitol riot, was sentenced to life in prison for molesting two children.

A Hernando County jury convicted him of two counts of lewd molestation and one count of transmitting harmful material to a minor. Judge Stephen Toner imposed the sentence on March 5.

Johnson was among over 1,500 Jan. 6 defendants pardoned on Trump’s first day back in office. Months after his release, he contacted an 11-year-old boy on Discord, sent him a secret iPhone, and began abusing him.

He told the boy he was getting $10 million for being a “Jan. 6er” and would put him in his will — an attempt to buy the child’s silence.

Johnson is one of several pardoned Jan. 6 defendants charged with new crimes since receiving clemency. He told the judge “I’m sorry, man” before sentencing.
